I have 9 years of experience teaching AP Computer Science A, with a particular focus on Java programming and object-oriented design. Before teaching, I worked as a software developer, which helps me explain why certain programming practices matter. My students spend plenty of time writing and debugging code rather than just reading solutions. I also use timed free-response questions to prepare them for the structure and demands of the AP examination.

Hey! I'm a Computer Science graduate who's been tutoring AP Computer Science Principles for 3 years. I really enjoy working with beginners, especially those who've never written a proper programme before. We build small projects together and use them to explore algorithms, data and programming logic. I also help students plan their Create performance task, understand their own code and practise answering questions about how their programmes work.

Teaching AP Computer Science A has been my main focus for the past 6 years. I previously worked in software testing, so debugging is something I spend a lot of time on with students. Arrays, loops and recursion can be particularly tricky, and I prefer working through actual code rather than lengthy explanations. During exam preparation, I use past-style programming questions and ask students to explain their reasoning before checking the output.
